Manifest V3 clipboardWrite permission

clipboardWrite lets the extension write to the clipboard from contexts that have no user gesture — a service worker via an offscreen document, or a content script reacting to an event — using navigator.clipboard.writeText or the older execCommand path.

A popup or options page acting on a click can usually write the clipboard without any permission, so declare this only for the gesture-less case. It shows no install warning; the read-side permission, clipboardRead, is the one that warns ('Read data you copy and paste') and is deliberately not in this catalogue.

What does the clipboardWrite permission do in Manifest V3?
Write to the clipboard without a user gesture. It is declared as the string "clipboardWrite" in the manifest's permissions array; the browser grants it at install time, and the extension's service worker, popup and other pages can then call the matching API.
Does clipboardWrite show an install warning?
No. clipboardWrite is granted silently — it appears in the manifest but adds nothing to the install prompt. Host permissions and warning-bearing permissions such as tabs or downloads are what change the prompt.
Can I request clipboardWrite at runtime instead?
Yes. Move it from permissions to optional_permissions and call browser.permissions.request({ permissions: ["clipboardWrite"] }) from a user gesture when the feature is first used. The manifest generator emits the install-time form; optional grants are an edit to that JSON.
